My alphabet collection began as a commission,
to make a large silver 'swirly' R pendant. So
I went off and researched swirly letters, and
because I admire old and new text it was very
interesting. Old handwriting from the 16th century
was the style suited to this piece, and in turn,
to the smaller ones I make now. I form the letter
as though writing it, flattening it where more
pressure was used on the paper.
Every letter is handmade so it is difficult to
get them exactly the same, but this adds a uniqueness
to each piece. I have made them in rose gold,
silver and have even added a button. I can add
a chain, faux suede necklet or leave them as charms.
